I was nervous about choosing a company to create canvases from cellphone images from our trip to Hawai’i. I spent about 14 hours reading reviews while waiting for my son to finish swim practice over two weeks. Over and over, I read about Canvas HQ preforming miracles. I bit the bullet, sent in my images to be made into 16×24, and began to tweak them into perfection. The editor at the other end was very patient as I asked for a horizon to be leveled, a sea turtle to be centered, the top two rocks on a cairn to be brightened. You can see what mirroring vs wrapping looks like on the proofs. This was important because mirroring made a minor bit of vegetation look like a huge moth on the edge of the pahoehoe image. Wrapping the edges removed that problem, although be aware that you “lose” part of your image when you wrap (it moves to the edges). I placed the order Thursday night and received them Monday morning: Wow! The end result was exactly what the proofs showed, only in greater detail. The canvases arrived wrapped in plastic and taped together, which I assume gave them better support. Otherwise, not much else in the box although there was a BIG fragile sticker on the exterior. The included hooks were easy and fun to use, except you cannot use them if there is a stud on the other side of the wall! Now I am eyeing images from an earlier trip; I see another order coming soon!
